Narnia News – competition winners

August 27, 2013

Firstly, apologies for the excitably written blog post. It will not be my finest piece of writing, but I can’t hold it in any longer. I I shall however temper my apology with the fact that I am in good company according to a quote from C.S.Lewis, which is aptly leveled at the Beavers in the Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe:

“This was bad grammar of course, but that is how beavers talk when they are excited; I mean, in Narnia–in our world they usually don’t talk at all.”

Thankyou so much to everyone who voted for my recipe, which was “Mrs Beaver’s Marmalade Rolls-on-the-run“. I owe you many jars of homemade marmalade in thanks.

The recipe will be featured in the Narnia Food & Feasts Ebook, published by Harper Collins. I will let you know when it’s out. Mr B and I also get to go on a food foraging course with Taste the Wild and stay at the Goring for a night. Wow. Excited does not come close – though Mr B said “I’m not sure I want to go somewhere to eat food from a field” (that’s the foraging course, not the Goring), which of course make me more determined to try to get him to come with me!

Also, the winner of the competition to win the complete Chronicles of Narnia is: Lynn Doe. If you get in touch, I will pass your details on to Harper Collins. Well done Lynn – I hope you enjoy reading them.x
