Pete McKee / Bob Dylan 30th Birthday Cake (new oven cake #1)
Hello. I’ve moved! Did you notice? Enough of that then.

Adventures begin in a new bit of London
It was Mr B’s Birthday yesterday – he’s 30. Clearly this meant cake was needed, so it was time to brave the ‘new’ oven. It’s an old gas electrolux oven and it appears to be rather vicious as it burned the edges of my go-to Madeira cake (with added mini eggs) recipe. Anyway, disaster was averted as I trimmed it into a square.
The Bland household are a big fans of the artist Pete McKee. I thoroughly recommend that you check out his work, especially if you like music, graphic art, or are northern.
I’ve shamelessly tried to rip off a section of one of his paintings called “Judas” which depicts “The moment Bob Dylan picked up an electric guitar and plugged it in”

Not the neatest, but made with lots of love.
Great idea for a cake! Did you paint the guitar on…it looks really well done! 🙂
I did indeed – I love food colouring felt pens!
this looks fantastic! Did you paint the decoration on? What a lucky birthday boy 🙂
